Warhol on Basquiat
Pop Art pioneer Andy Warhol is one of the most celebrated and influential artists of his generation, known as much for his works as his insights on celebrity culture. In the 1980s, Warhol developed an emotionally complex relationship with Jean-Michel Basquiat, a rising star from the graffiti scene. In Warhol on Basquiat, Michael Dayton Hermann of the Andy Warhol Foundation has matched 400 of Warhol's photographs – most of which have never been published before – with entries from his published diaries. The author describes this intimate volume as "a voyeuristic glimpse" into the artists' lives.
